Coudersport & St Marys, Pennsylvania

Are you an experienced operations leader ready to take on the challenge of overseeing two critical manufacturing sites? Morgan Advanced Materials is looking for an Operations Director to lead our St. Marys and Coudersport PA facilities, ensuring excellence in production, quality, and safety.

Overview:

The Operations Director is responsible for the comprehensive leadership of the St. Marys and Coudersport facilities, including production, quality management, health and safety, maintenance, and engineering. You will have dotted line responsibilities towards human resources management, finance, and supply chain. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the seamless operations and continuous improvement of our Performance Carbon business unit.

Responsibilities:
What You'll Do:

EHS: Champion a strong health and safety culture through visual leadership, personal engagement, and compliance with Morgan EHS systems and processes.

Quality: Oversee the quality of production, address customer complaints, reduce scrap, and ensure compliance with relevant certifications such as ISO standards.

Production: Lead all personnel involved in the manufacturing process, achieve production targets, and improve efficiency and productivity.

Maintenance: Ensure the optimal condition and operation of facility assets, improve machine uptime, and modernize operations.

Leadership: Directly manage teams across production, quality, engineering, maintenance, CI, and EHS, with dotted line oversight of HR, finance, and supply chain teams.

Qualifications:
What You'll Bring:

Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Material Science preferred), Supply Chain, or equivalent experience in Operations Management

Progressive managerial experience in Operations Management

Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing facility

Experience in industrial, refinery, or materials sectors is preferred

Advanced English language skills

Experience with kilning/furnace technologies, materials mixing, pressing, and extruding is an advantage

Lean/Six Sigma qualification is an advantage

Must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent resident alien, or a Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)

Safety and Environmental KPIs

Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) KPIs

Operational KPIs including productivity, on-time delivery, and lead times

Cash performance and stock KPIs

Budget variance, forecast variance, standard cost variance

Customer satisfaction KPIs

Quality KPIs
