Job description

Responsibilities:

Manages technical & administrative employees engaged in the engineering & documentation processes. Provides coaching and counseling of direct reports.

Active in the design of components and systems to fulfill customer requirements using SolidWorks CAD software. This will include a variety of complex, detailed and accurate manufacturing drawings using sketches, layouts or notes from engineering and/or customers resulting in designs to be manufactured.

Formulates & maintains engineering standards & procedures complementary to corporate policies & goals.

Ownership of Engineering change workflow and processes. Experience in SolidWorks and Oracle highly preferred.

Manages project schedule and owns technical delivery KPIs.

Performs engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements.

Maintains working knowledge of government & industry engineering codes & standards.

Evaluates data in scientific journals, suppliers' catalogues, government standards documents & other sources of information on materials, processes & parts to update knowledge of available resources.

Examines all factors involved to confirm that standards will result in most economic use of material & labor consistent with safety & durability of final product.

Reviews standards prepared with other departmental specialists to assure consistency with existing standards & those in other specialized disciplines.

Prepares detailed quotations for fixture, tool, and engineering requirements to be used in developing a formal quote for customer.

Communicates with user personnel to confirm knowledge of standards & cooperation of various project groups.

Foster an environment that promotes the Company's goals, values & philosophy. Encourage continuous improvement and build internal relationships.

Establishes strong relationships with peers within the Company.

Keeps management abreast of significant issues or developments related to product design, product development & product performance.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.

10 years' experience in hydraulic or electric component solutions design.

5 years of experience with direct or indirect management of individuals, teams or projects.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Must be a self-starter, self-motivated and be able to embrace multiple responsibilities simultaneously with minimum guidance
