GeoLogics is seeking a talented Sr. Mechanical Engineer to work with one of our aerospace and defense partners in Middletown, RI. Position: Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Contract/Temp) Location: Onsite/Hybrid in Middleton, RI Pay: $53.00 - $65.00 per hour Clearance Requirement: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Due to the nature of work performed in the facility, U.S. citizenship is required. For any inquiries or additional details regarding Security Clearances, please visit the United States Department of State webpage: Job Overview: As a Mechanical Engineer for the Tactical Hardware business area, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, building, and testing a torpedo tube deployment system capable of launching payloads from a submarine platform. Required Skills/Qualifications: B.S. degree and minimum of 8 years of related experience (or 6 years with a M.S. degree), including:
Advanced proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
Collaborative, creative thinker with experience leading complex projects with successful outcomes
Exceptional communication skills with experience writing technical papers and proposals
Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others
Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Design of electro-mechanical systems capable of surviving harsh environmental conditions (shock, vibration, temperature)
Proficiency utilizing CAD tools to create 3D models and drawings for technical data packages that meet ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards
Experience performing structural and thermal analyses to meet submarine environmental requirements.
