The Embedded Controls Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of hardware and firmware for embedded systems. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop reliable, scalable, and efficient solutions for automated systems.

Description

The Embedded Controls Engineer II will report directly into the Electrical Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

  • Design, develop, and test embedded control software for industrial machinery.
  • Develop and integrate control algorithms, firmware, and hardware interfaces.
  • Create Circuit Schematic/Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design.
  • Conduct diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, and validation of embedded systems.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop fail-safe and fault-tolerant designs.
  • Maintain and improve existing embedded control systems, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Identify, evaluate, document, and mitigate issues and risks across hardware/firmware applications.

Profile

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 6+ years of embedded systems hardware/firmware development
  • Familiar with power electronics hardware development
  • Strong knowledge of Circuit Schematic and PCB design tools
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python for embedded systems
  • Familiarity with Simulation tools (MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice)
  • Experience with embedded software development tools, version control, and debugging tools
