APS-3: Electronics Technician Maintenance I Belong, Connect, Grow, with KBR! Program Summary KBR maintains and manages Army prepositioned stocks at the Army Field Support Battalion - Charleston (AFSBn-CHS) land site and aboard ship to include all logistics and maintenance operations. The KBR APS-3 Program is managed and executed at Goose Creek in support of the Army's power projection doctrine and resources. The contract provides maintenance of APS-3 stocks (Class II, IIIP, IV, VII, IX) to ensure that unit sets stored aboard marine vessels are configured and maintained at optimal readiness. KBR provides limited maintenance and supply support aboard ship to ensure that equipment sets are maintained in a ready condition for emergency download and issue to operating units at the direction of the US Army. KBR also provides maintenance services and logistical support for other Army programs IAW individual scope of work contract requirements. Job Summary The Electronics Technician Maintenance I applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. This person works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from a supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy. Roles and Responsibilities This position is to work as an Electronics Technician in a Communications and Electronics Maintenance Shop, with primary focus on performing Preventative Maintenance on combat and tactical communications, communication support, mine detecting, and power distribution equipment stocked in the Army Prepositioned War stock Program. The Electronics Tech-I conducts equipment inventories, inspections, and function tests, identifies faults, and assists Electronic Tech II in maintenance actions. Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications) Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid Driver's License. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) Must obtain and maintain local base access. Must be capable of getting a minimum of a SECRET security clearance. Must have a minimum of High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years related experience of related experience or technical training in Electronics Maintenance. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand - between 2 to 3 hours per day.
Must be able to walk - between 4 to 5 hours per day.
Must be able to Lift - up to 35 lbs. - 50 lbs. periodically.
Must be able to squat, knell, bend, reach and climb periodically.
Must be able to work outside and inside in non-climate-controlled environments. The APS-3 daily schedule is a 4-day workweek with the potential for overtime during high-demand missions.
The APS-3 standard workweek schedule is from 6:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Thursday with possible overtime of up to 8 hours (as the mission demands).
The APS-3 workforce receives 11 Federal Holidays per year in addition to earned paid time off.
