Job description

This opportunity will be with Prime Geodesicx Geodesicx is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mid-Level Software and Hardware Integrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in integrating and maintaining complex systems, with a specific focus on Department of Defense (DoD) programs for the Navy. This role requires expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration, object-oriented programming languages such as C++ and Python, network administration, and hypervisor technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the seamless integration of software and hardware components, optimizing system performance, and maintaining robust security protocols. Duties:
• System Integration: Integrate and configure software and hardware components to create cohesive, efficient, and secure systems for DoD Navy programs.
• Linux Administration: Manage and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
• Programming: Develop, test, and maintain software applications using C++ and Python or similar object-oriented programming languages.
• Network Administration: Oversee WAN/LAN network administration, including traffic routing, prioritization, firewall rule sets, port addressing, and VLAN configuration.
• Hypervisor Management: Install, configure, and manage hypervisors such as VMWare ESXi, Red Hat KubeVirt & KVM, and Virtualbox.
• Security Compliance: Ensure all systems comply with DoD security standards and protocols, performing regular security assessments and implementing necessary updates and patches.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to software, hardware, and network components, providing timely and effective support to end-users.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, procedures, and changes, ensuring clear and accurate records.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, network engineers, and cybersecurity specialists, to achieve project goals and deliver high-quality solutions. Experience:
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software and hardware integration, preferably within DoD programs for the Navy.
• Proven experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python or similar object-oriented programming languages.
• Solid understanding of WAN/LAN network administration, including traffic routing, prioritization, firewall rule sets, port addressing, and VLANs.
• Hands-on experience with hypervisors such as VMWare ESXi, Red Hat KubeVirt & KVM, and Virtualbox.
• Certifications (desired but not required):
o Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
o CompTIA Network+ or equivalent certification.
o VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or similar certification.
• Skills:
o Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
o Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills.
o Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Additional Requirements
o Security Clearance: Must possess Security Clearance at a minimum. o Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems and provide efficient solutions.
o Effective communication and collaboration skills.
o Immediate availability to join the team. Education:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
