Our South Sumter, SC location is seeking a Sr Staff Software Engineer to join our team. Are you ready to shape the future with us? THE POSITION Sr Staff Software Engineer, Continental Tire The Americas, LLC, South Sumter, SC: Develop software, engage in machine debugging and software and hardware troubleshooting for machines associated with the tire manufacturing process. Compare and analyze special functions and features. Engage in process optimization to improve machine design and productivity. Provide remote support to machinery in tire plant sites and on-site support if needed. Responsible for conducting pilots of software modifications, machine roll-outs, and performing modifications or improvements in the machines from the control side. Identify, evaluate, and optimize faults in the machines and special components from the Control and Drive Systems. Provide best practice implementation and exchange between tire plants, Administration work, and base load (execution of tasks in relation with projects, machine and equipment support, inspection and adjustment). Every 2 months, serve as on-call support on a 24/7 basis for a 2 week period. Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day per week. Full time employment, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field, plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate, progressive related work experience. Must have 5 years of experience in Tire Manufacturing process using Siemens and Beckhoff Control technology. Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in each of the following: Using hardware and software systems and programming, including BECKHOFF, PLC and System Manager; Using Twincat and Twinsafe; Using SIEMENS S7 PLC; Using SIEMENS Profibus, ProfiNET or Profisafe; Using SIEMENS drives S120; and Using software interfaces SIEMENS HMI (WinCC). Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following: Using E+L (Erhardt+Leimer) BST Camera Systems and software interfaces to validate material application; and Using SICK Safety System S3000 and C Programming to monitor field areas. Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in each of the following: Using Hardware Manager and Diagnostic Software tools; and Using manufacturing applications, including CTTO, Maintenance Framework, TIGER and IT features for remote assistance (including Barracuda Cuda Launch).
