Job description


POSITION PURPOSE :

Examine, code if necessary, verify, balance and reconcile a variety of transactions, listings, invoices, vouchers and reports related to the Accounts Payable function. Responsible for all clerical activities of the accounts payable function including the maintenance of accounts payable vendor files.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES :

  1. Accounts Payable data entry, including invoices and matching against purchase orders.
  2. Reconciliation of vendor statements to accounts payable records, as necessary.
  3. Monthly reconciliation of all trade payable accounts, including un-invoiced receipts.
  4. Weekly filing of accounts payable by vendor and ongoing maintenance of vendor files.
  5. Assistance in year-end audit, including preparation of documents selected for transaction testing.
  6. Year-end vendor file update, including labeling vendor files for the new-year.
  7. Promptly responding to vendor requests for payment and/or account reconciliation.
  8. Accounts Receivable: Posting incoming payments from customers.
  9. Account reconciliations: Reconcile cash, A/P and A/R accounts
  10. Perform other accounting functions as requested within the scope of training and knowledge

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Associates degree in Accounting is preferred.
  2. Three years of applicable experience including general accounting/bookkeeping experience.
  3. Must exhibit the ability to effectively communicate with all levels throughout the organization.
  4. Must be proficient at the operation of a 10 key calculator and possess a friendly, helpful demeanor.
  5. Must have ERP experience, as well as knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  6. SAP experience highly desirable.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule is required.
