Job description

Overview:
The role of the Facilities Supervisor is to provide leadership, supervision, direction and support to the Facilities Department employees. This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the interior and exterior maintenance of Contec's facilities located in Spartanburg, SC. Primary responsibilities will be electrical and mechanical support, maintenance and/or repair of the facilities' safety processes, fire and environmental protection systems and processes, utilities, building equipment and infrastructure. This position will work with the maintenance personnel, service providers, contractors, and their employees to ensure that Contec's facilities, utilities and grounds are regularly maintained, are in good working order, and project a clean, professional appearance

Responsibilities:
Using IFS/CMMS, effectively plans, organizes and directs the work to be performed through assigned employees, service providers and contractors.

Ensures facilities equipment, tools and systems are safe and properly functioning. Follows escalation protocols to remove roadblocks.

Ensures effective employee relations. Provides coaching and development of their employees. Resolves employee issues and reviews and responds to their suggestions.

Ensures their employees receive timely and adequate training to perform their jobs.

Assesses employee performance and provides appropriate individual feedback in a timely manner.

Maintains an environment that supports and promotes the core values and culture of Contec, including support of Contec's policies, programs, and procedures.

Regularly inspects and audits facilities for appearance and cleanliness.

Assists in ensuring PM activities meet all NFPA 25 and NEC requirements.

Participates and works within ISO quality standards guidelines in accordance with Contec's quality goals.

Other duties may be assigned.

OTHER DUTIES

Facilitates communication between departments and the organization regarding planned and unplanned facilities events.

Reviews and updates departmental procedures and work instructions within company guidelines to ensure orderly, effective and efficient workflow.

On Call and responds to system and security monitoring firm and answering services. Provides emergency response leadership as needed.

Performs duties with the highest regard for safety and quality.

Competencies:
Proficient in using maintenance management software and tools.

Excellent technical skills and knowledge of testing equipment

Ability to effectively motivate and manage others through coaching, delegation, setting expectations and goals, accountability, discipline, and recognition.

Proficient in written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a team environment and work independently in a diverse, dynamic and high-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Ability to lead change when necessary.

Ability to identify and solve problems.

Ability to coordinate multiple projects and tasks ensuring their timely and quality completion.

Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to learn and become proficient in Contec's ERP system software.

Ability to understand and follow site protocols, policies and procedures.

Performs duties with the highest regard for safety and quality.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) from four-year College or University; or two to five years related supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in Facilities Maintenance, and CMMS/Planning preferred; proven ability to supervise a technical team in a manufacturing or industrial environment a plus.
