Job description

Job Title: Grain Supervisor

Position Summary: The Grain Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and directing employees in the efficient handling of grain, including dumping, binning, and maintaining grain quality. This role involves overseeing the documentation and maintenance of equipment used in grain storage and ensuring that all operational practices adhere to industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage and direct employees in the unloading and loading of grain commodities.
  • Develop and implement best practices for product handling, machine efficiency, and employee productivity.
  • Ensure bin charts are accurate and up-to-date; provide bin level and content updates to the Location Manager.
  • Monitor and maintain grain quality, ensuring proper storage and blending of various grain types.
  • Utilize forecasts and software programs to aid in effective inventory control.
  • Communicate effectively with all location and grain personnel.
  • Operate and maintain equipment efficiently, safely, and in accordance with industry standards.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs, maintaining accurate records of all related activities.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, including OSHA standards, vehicle policies, fleet safety programs, and DOT regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience from a two-year college or technical school with at least two years of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in various indoor and outdoor conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, dust, and loud noise, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Capability to work at elevated areas (4 feet and above) and in confined spaces.
  • Availability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, or different shifts as needed.
