Job Summary: This position holds responsibility for coordination, and follow-through of pre-engineered metal buildings, conventional structure and specialty metal siding orders from suppliers. The secondary focus of this position is to coordinate and manage projects with internal superintendents and project managers and subcontractors on project.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate check-in (and double-check) of shipping manifest once orders arrive at location and troubleshoot any problems with order.
  • Coordinate scheduling of orders and review shop drawings prior to arrival at correct location/time and troubleshoot any problems associated with schedule.
  • Coordinate pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) product design with internal and external design professionals.
  • Maintain accurate database of final PEMB drawings for all present as past projects.
  • Interact regularly with Butler Manufacturing/Bluescope Steel.
  • Initiate pre-engineered metal building orders with Butler Manufacturing and specialty metal siding orders from other suppliers using supplier-specific estimating and purchasing software, as well as other means of placing orders such as emails and phone calls.
  • Coordinate and manage pre-engineered and conventional metal building projects with DSB superintendents, T. W. Frierson project managers and superintendents, and subcontractors.
  • Administer and coordinate warranty and repair program for pre-engineered metal building projects including receiving client communication regarding repairs and warranties, scheduling and ensuring follow-through on repairs and warranty inspections.
  • Coordinate billing of repair and warranty charges.
  • Ensure collection of billed monies and report problems to accounting as appropriate.
  • Perform additional assignments at supervisor's direction.


Knowledge, Experience & Competencies:

  • Associate degree in drafting, project management, or construction management preferred
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of work experience in a pre-engineered metal building / PEMB systems commercial construction environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer-service orientation
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents
  • Ability to produce quality work in an efficient manner with little supervision in an ever-changing environment
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based applications
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment including computer, printer, copier, fax, scanner, adding machine, telephone, and mobile phone/radio
  • Must possess a valid, state-issued driver's license
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, at least eight hours per day, five days per week between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
