Job description
Our client, a 100+ bed healthcare facility located within 2 hrs of Great Smoky Mountains area of TN, within an hour of Knoxville and Chattanooga, has a need for a Night shift L&D RN to join their team. These are 12 hr shifts. This is a fairly small unit. They deliver around 25 babies a month.
They are offering a $20,000 sign on bonus!
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Reports to: Director of Women's and Children's Services
Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition. Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Minimum Education
Associate's degree in Nursing Required
Bachelor's degree in Nursing Preferred
Required Licenses
Tennessee, United States Registered Nurse
RN License in the State of TN or another compact state
Required Skills/Certifications:
The below certifications will be required at the time of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS)
The below certifications will be required within 6 months of hire or when transferring into a new department with these certifications
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)
Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring)
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Must achieve a passing score of 85% on the Medication Administration Exam
