Position Summary: Bongards Premium Cheese is looking for a dedicated, dynamic and experienced Food Quality and Safety professional to serve as our Quality Control Supervisor. Ensure product quality by raw, finished environmental and physical testing. To work with other supervisors/managers to ensure the Safety and Quality of our products and our facility. This includes oversight and monitoring of all quality and sanitation programs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform physical testing of raw and finished cheese products to ensure they are within Bongards specifications.
- Perform environmental testing to ensure equipment and surroundings are adequate to produce a wholesome finished product.
- Monitor and enforce GMP program.
- Monitor to verify HACCP compliance, take corrective action as necessary.
- Responsible for the coordination of Product Hold, Evaluation and Release program.
- Work with QA Manager on customer complaints.
- Serve as a backup for any QC technician coverage gaps in the schedule.
- Enter finished product releases into the Ross manufacturing system.
- Perform in-house Bongards quality audits, maintain electronic recordkeeping for quality and assist with food security and facility defense programs.
- Must report all food safety and quality concerns to immediate supervisor or their designated replacement.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- An Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related field is preferred, but we will consider candidates without a degree, if they have commensurate experience.
- Two to Four years of Food Manufacturing Quality Control Experience.
- One to Three years of Laboratory experience.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with Processed Cheese highly desired.
Working Conditions:
- Office in a food manufacturing environment, some office setting.
- Extended periods of sitting, standing and typing on a computer is required.
- Light lifting may be required, up to 50 pounds.
- Willing to work occasional evenings or weekends as business needs require.
