Job Title: Medical Biller

Overview: As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing healthcare claims and invoices to ensure timely reimbursement from insurance companies and patients.

Onsite: Knoxville Tennessee 37932

Contract to hire in 3-6 months

Pa $16 - $18/hr. pending Exp.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Claim Preparation:

   • Review patient medical records, encounter forms, and other documentation to accurately code diagnoses, procedures, and services rendered.
   • Utilize appropriate coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) to assign codes that comply with insurance guidelines and regulatory requirements.
   • Verify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits prior to claim submission.

2. Claim Submission:

   • Compile and prepare electronic or paper claims for submission to insurance carriers or government payers.
   • Transmit claims electronically using billing software or submit paper claims via mail or other designated channels.
   • Ensure that all required claim information, attachments, and supporting documentation are included to facilitate prompt adjudication.

3. Claim Follow-Up:

   • Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid, denied, or delayed claims in a timely manner.
   • Contact insurance carriers to inquire about claim status, denial reasons, and payment discrepancies.
   • Investigate and resolve claim rejections, coding errors, and other issues contributing to payment delays or denials.
