01239 Interim Director of Med-Surg STRHS-Lawrenceburg Job Description Directs the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives. Reports to: Chief Nursing Officer FLSA: Exempt Grade: 78 EEO: X 01 Officials and Managers 02 Professionals 03 Technicians 04 Sales Workers 05 Administrative Support Workers 06 Craft Workers 07 Operatives 08 Laborers and Helpers 09 Service Workers Essential Functions ? Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization. Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives. Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives. Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits. Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth. Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols. Job Requirements ? Minimum Education X Associate's degree Required Minimum Education X Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required Minimum Education X Bachelor's degree Preferred Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Skills Certifications: X Basic Life Support (BLS) X Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire X Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire Required Skills Licenses: Current and active Registered Nurse license in the State of Tennessee.
