Job Details

Position Summary:
The primary focus of this role is to provide crucial manufacturing engineering support, emphasizing the design, justification, and implementation of projects aimed at enhancing safety, quality, and efficiency. These projects extend beyond general floor support and safety duties and frequently involve capital requests. Project examples encompass safety enhancements, quality improvements, facility optimizations, and process enhancements. The role operates under general supervision, with prescribed guidelines requiring independent action.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive documentation for manufactured parts and assemblies, including detail drawings, manufacturing work instructions, reference documents, visual aids, standard work breakdowns, and bill of material entry and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Production personnel to ensure adherence to documented design and procedures.
  • Work closely with Design Engineering personnel to continually enhance materials and procedures for the production of more cost and labor-efficient components and assemblies.
  • Coordinate and lead Production and Design Engineering in the seamless integration of new products into production.
  • Ensure the timely and adequate completion of all applicable project phases.
  • Suggest and assist in implementing improvements in the manufacturing process.
  • Contribute to the development of necessary tools, jigs, and fixtures for production.
  • Review all Engineering Change Notices related to the manufacturing process.
  • Generate Engineering Change Notices as required.

Qualification Requirements:
  • Strong manufacturing experience, particularly in the Marine industry, will be considered in place of formal education.
  • Preferably possess a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with 2 to 5 years of practical experience in all phases of manufacturing and material control.
  • Must have a working knowledge of bill-of-materials.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to interface effectively with other employees, external vendors, dealers, and retail customers.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are preferred.
  • Working knowledge of PC-based software (Word, Excel, etc.) is preferred.
