We are looking to add an experienced Industrial Engineer to the team. This position will be based on-site out of our manufacturing facility located in Milan, Tennessee.

What would you do as our Industrial Engineer?
You will study current processes and collaborate with on-site teams to improve processes and functionality, increase productivity, ensure safety, reduce waste, and optimize investments while employing LEAN concepts.
You would also:
- Troubleshoot, research, evaluate and recommend strategic plans, cost-saving initiatives, new processes and system improvements.
- Good understanding and experience in implementing standardized work. Prior experience in teaching and coaching Lean principles.
- Continually improve processes and cost efficiencies for labor and material costs
- Oversee the design, concept and purchasing of new machinery, equipment and tooling areas.
- Recommend design changes in existing product lines to promote cost savings and efficiencies.
- Improve plant layouts to improve flow and maximize capacity and output.
- Design, develop and champion for manufacturing to be done in the most economical way with the least capital expenditure.
- Assist with the preparation of capital budgets.
- Participate in a safe and harmonious working environment.
- Assure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate policies, regulations, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.
- Other projects and assignments, as needed.
The Skills and Experience you need:
- Industrial or Mechanical Engineering Degree required.
- 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience leading/participating in LEAN Transformation (i.e. Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen, etc.) required.
- Six Sigma certification desired. Black Belt certification a plus
- Solid experience in going to the GEMBA to collect facts.
- Familiar with quality systems, packaging, distribution, manufacturing, welding, supply chain, tooling and machinery design.
- Previous experience in designing manufacturing/warehouse solutions.
- Ability to hold others accountable to ensure project deliverables.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize projects under tight time deadlines.
- Ability to travel 10% of the time
