Responsibilities:
About The Role:

The Global Infrastructure Governance Analyst III, under the general direction from the Manager of Global Infrastructure Governance, will assist in the implementation, support and delivery of IT infrastructure services to the business. This team members is responsible for coordinating the efforts of peer IT team members, third-party contractors and partners to support the optimal delivery of IT infrastructure technical services in support of business goals and objectives. An energetic, solution minded personality with drive, attention to details and excellent communication skills will be needed for success in this position.

Follow industry best practices in the delivery of compliant and stable IT services to the business

Provide both internal and external customers with excellent customer service while striving to provide world-class service

Effectively communicate current status of all projects, problems and issues to the department manager and VP

Proactively identify opportunities for improvements to existing processes and support delivery of quality methodologies and continuous improvement efforts designed to generate productivity and cost efficiencies (eg Six Sigma, lean, automation, cost reduction)

Offer improvement recommendations for established policies, practices, standards, guidelines, and procedures related to infrastructure services

Assist in the support of activities in the areas of oversight, quality control and continuous monitoring of information to resolve issues preventing the optimal delivery of IT infrastructure technical services

Perform monitoring and reporting for performance metrics/KPIs in collaboration with the IT Service Management (ITSM) Team

Assist with post-implementation reviews and "blameless post-mortem" discussions of successful and unsuccessful IT infrastructure changes and deployments

Assist in efforts to plan, prioritize, schedule and implement complex software and/or hardware configuration changes

Evaluate system patches and application updates as directed

Facilitate remediation of security, compliance and configuration related incident management tickets as they arise and ensure timely resolution

Ensure optimal, secure and consistent configurations for all IT infrastructure services including all associated server hardware and software

Assist in compliance assessments and initiate corrective action(s) as needed

Participate and support Disaster Recovery testing efforts

Identify and direct changes through appropriate review and approval mechanisms

Escalate complex or consequential issues to management

Understand and promote the GM Financial policy on Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) to ensure ongoing adherence to all relevant compliance regulations that may govern the GM Financial business and complete all regulatory knowledge training where applicable in a timely fashion

Champion the improvement and maintenance of policies, standards and control procedures

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge in infrastructure design and management

Advanced understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices and processes

High level understanding of technology infrastructure, security concepts and platforms

Demonstrated success in project management

Knowledge and stay abreast on the latest security and privacy legislation, regulations, advisories, alerts and vulnerabilities

Knowledge of IT security processes and controls as well as IT infrastructure and networking technical knowledge

Understanding of routing and switching protocols as they relate to load balancing

Strong understanding of application layer protocols including HTTP, SSH, SSL and DNS

Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP model and IP subnetting

Advanced knowledge of backup infrastructure

Knowledge of local and wide area networking concepts, principles and protocols

Advanced knowledge of the OSI model and security that is associated with each layer

Intermediate knowledge of Windows Server, UNIX/Linux operating systems, SQL databases, virtualization technologies, storage systems and cross platform integration

Knowledge of ITIL-based processes

Knowledge of ServiceNow platform

Strong knowledge of/experience with Sarbanes Oxley and an understanding of risk and internal control concepts

Strong knowledge of Active Directory and group policy

Advanced experience with network and VLAN segmentation

Strong knowledge of PowerShell, Python or C#

Working knowledge of management processes such as personnel administration, planning and budgeting

Knowledge of SQL database/reporting

Exposure to CI/CD (Continuous improvement/continuous delivery (Agile/Scrum/ITIL)

Exposure to cloud applications

Knowledge of Unix (AIX/Linux) preferred

Exposure to containers

Strong understanding of the vulnerability management process

Ability to think strategically and make collaborative decisions

Ability to apply structured analysis methods to various types of data to establish trends, determine variability and business impact

Communicates quickly, clearly, concisely, appropriately, and intelligently

Foster open communication, speaks with impact, listens to others, and writes effectively

Ability to effectively negotiate with vendors on upgrades and acquisitions

Effective planning, time management, negotiation and delegation skills

Expert level IT security processes and controls knowledge as well as IT infrastructure and networking technical knowledge

Advanced technical writing

Experience in documentation tools such as Visio and Microsoft Office products

Advanced information security standards/frameworks (ie, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001) skills

Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work or military experience preferred

5-7 years experience in IT Security, information systems, audit or risk and compliance role required

3-5 years experience in data analytics preferred

Professional certifications such as CISA, CIPT, CGEIT, Six Sigma preferred
