About Client:

The client provides information technology (IT) services, including business outsourcing, infrastructure technology, and application services. The application service offered by the company includes application development, maintenance, and support. The markets served by the company are financial services and insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, government, transportation, communications, and consumer and retail industries.

Rate Range: $65-$70/Hr

Job Description:

Years of experience needed:

5 to 10 years of experience on Apache Solr with knowledge on Kubernetes and cloud technology

Technical Skills:

Proven experience in designing and developing search solutions using Apache SOLR in the last 3 to 4 years

Solid understanding of search engine technologies, search algorithms, and data structures

Experience with indexing, querying, and analyzing large volumes of structured and unstructured data. Familiarity with search relevance models and ranking techniques

Experience maintaining and designing applications on AWS

Experience with building efficient distributed, scalable, high quality software services, microservices

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

Experience with database technologies and SQL

Experience in Agile methodologies, and CI/CD DevOps tools (Jenkins / GitHub Actions, GitHub Co-pilot etc.)

Develop and maintain advanced query rewriting functionality.

Write automated unit test cases for Solr search engine.

Design, develop, review & test Solr search engine in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

In-depth understanding of SOLR, Elasticsearch, and Lucene

Proficient in Java, JVM tuning, and debugging.

Good knowledge of automation and tooling using Python or Java

Understanding of Linux for debugging tools and performance tuning

Knowledge of containers such as Kubernetes or Docker is a plus

Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure

Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
