Our South Austin community retail pharmacy is now hiring

Peoples Rx is a locally-owned, holistic compounding pharmacy that has served the Austin community and been a beloved Austin icon for over 40 years. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work closely with our progressive, world-class pharmacists to provide personalized service to each customer.

The ideal candidate has the ability to process a variety of prescriptions in a fast-paced, retail environment and maintains a positive attitude with fellow team members. Our Pharmacy Technicians work promptly, safely and accurately to fill patient prescriptions all while providing a unique customer experience.

Requirements:

This is an in person role. Candidates must reside in the greater Austin area.
Extraordinary customer service
Excellent and efficient data entry skills
Knowledge of pharmacy and medical terminology
Must be current TSBP license holder (Technician or Trainee)
Six months to one year retail pharmacy experience
Flexible schedule, alternating nights and weekends
Able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for 8 hours

Responsibilities:
Receive written and electronic prescriptions or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate
Enter and maintain prescription data using pharmacy software system
Answer incoming phone calls and field patient questions
Contact doctor's offices or hospitals to clarify prescription information and initiate refill requests
Specialize in the resolution of prescription insurance claims
Assist the pharmacist with packaging medications and affixing proper labels
Maintain the ongoing medication inventory and place medication orders when instructed

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay rate from $16.50 - $21.00 _ (Starting rate of pay is based on experience + certification level) _
