Job Title: Director of Postpartum

Location: Austin, TX

Shift Type: Variable (24-hour responsibility due to Director role no weekends)

Shifts Per Week: 3

Scheduled Hours: 36 hours per week

Shift Duration: 12 hours

Salary Range: $135,000 to $145,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications

Job Overview:

As the Director of Postpartum, you will ensure high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the department's staffing, operations, and budget management. You will foster a culture of accountability and collaboration, ensuring adherence to clinical standards, patient safety, and quality outcomes. The Director will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures that align with facility objectives and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards. You will lead initiatives that improve patient throughput, care coordination, and patient experience while promoting interdisciplinary communication and staff development.

Key Responsibilities:

Cultivate a clinical identity by implementing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.

Manage clinical practice variation to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost management.

Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.

Oversee patient flow, admission/discharge planning, and efficient patient throughput.

Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and ensure appropriate clinical competencies across staff to meet patient care needs.

Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care.

Lead efforts to provide an unparalleled patient experience and elevate customer satisfaction.

Foster a positive work culture that promotes employee recognition, value, and engagement.

Collaborate with the administrative team and physicians to enhance services and develop new offerings.

Participate in the annual budget process, monitoring department performance and implementing actions to address gaps.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.

Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a leadership role.

3+ years of experience in healthcare, specifically in postpartum care.
