Position Purpose

The Homebase Visitor guides and supports the parent(s) to understand that they are their child's primary teacher and advocate. This is accomplished through weekly home visits that are individualized to meet the needs of each child and family. The Homebase Visitor also supports the parent(s) through weekly home visits and bimonthly socializations to strengthen their parenting skills. The Homebase Visitor encourages input from parents to provide learning opportunities that enhance their child's growth and development and to realize that the home is their child's primary learning environment.

The Homebase Visitor works with children ages 0 to 3 years and utilizes all the components (Health, Mental Health, Disabilities, and Family Engagement) available through Child Inc whenever necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

• Homebased CDA, associate degree, BA or higher in early childhood education, social work, family service credentials or related field preferred.

• Three years of experience working with children and families in an early childhood setting
• Head Start experience preferred.

• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Must possess valid driver's license and insured automobile; ability to travel and attend overnight training.
• Must pass all criminal history background checks.
