Lead Payroll Systems Analyst

Location: Remote

Annual Compensation: $115,000 - $120,000 DOE

Overview:

This position involves analyzing payroll data, troubleshooting system issues, implementing system enhancements, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The Payroll Systems Analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.

Essential Functions:

System Management:
Administer and maintain payroll systems, including software configuration, user access, and system updates.
Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll system-related inquiries and issues, providing technical support and resolution.
Collaborate with IT and software vendors to troubleshoot system issues and implement solutions.

Data Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze payroll data to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and integrity of payroll information.
Prepare and distribute payroll reports and dashboards to stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
Develop and maintain standardized reporting templates and processes to streamline reporting efficiency.

System Enhancements:
Identify opportunities to enhance payroll system functionality and usability, working closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize enhancements.
Participate in system enhancement projects, including requirements gathering, testing, and implementation.
Conduct user training and documentation to support system enhancements and changes.

Compliance and Regulation:
Ensure payroll systems and processes comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and data privacy requirements.
Stay abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and industry trends, assessing their impact on payroll systems and processes.
Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to address compliance issues and implement corrective actions.

Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes, improve efficiency, and reduce manual effort through automation and best practices.
Propose and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance payroll accuracy, timeliness, and effectiveness.
Document and communicate changes to payroll processes and procedures to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field (preferred); Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Three (3) years of related experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Proficiency in payroll software and systems, such as Kronos, ADP, Workday, or SAP.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and troubleshoot system issues.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality of work.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations related to payroll is a plus.
