Job description

Our client is a locally owned and highly respected engineering company in Austin looking to add a Mechanical Engineer PE / PM with HVAC and/or plumbing design experience to their growing team. This is a full-time, direct hire position at an outstanding company in a great location with generous compensation, benefit, bonus/401K, and PTO programs.

Skills

Mechanical Engineer degree with a PE license (Professional Engineer)

Experience with HVAC and/or plumbing design work on projects such as commercial offices, multifamily, K-12 schools, municipal buildings, healthcare, etc.

Proficiency in Revit as the main CAD system

AutoCAD experience

Project management experience (preferred)

Familiarity with HVAC modeling programs such as TRACE700, CHVAC7.0, and/or AIRMaster (big plus)

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Responsibilities

Calculate, design, and generate AutoCAD and/or Revit files and construction documents to support MEP engineering needs for various building types

Manage projects, establish schedules, assign resources, monitor performance, and ensure projects are on time and within budget

Maintain and organize all mechanical engineering-related documents and schedules

Review mechanical design submittals and address any field issues, conflicts, or questions

Generate and present project status updates to internal and external audiences

Develop new business with existing and new clients through relationship building

Qualifications

Must have a Mechanical Engineer degree with a PE license

Relevant experience in HVAC and plumbing design

Proven project management experience is a plus

Education Requirements

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

Education Requirements Credential Category

Professional Engineer (PE) license required

Experience Requirements

Experience with HVAC and/or plumbing design on various project types

Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD

Experience in project management and client relationship management is beneficial
