As the Modeling & Simulation Engineering Technical Fellow, you will participate in unique multi-disciplinary research across integrated product teams consisting of Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC), Signal Processing and missile-and-sensor-level Performance Simulations. You will develop the road map for high fidelity performance simulations that include multiple sensor channels, scene generation capability, control hardware, physical environment, embedded software, and system performance evaluation including pre-flight prediction, post flight matching, and verification and validation. Modeling & Simulation Fellows are demonstrated industry experts, versatile, imaginative, and eager to share their knowledge.

What You will Do :

  • You will act as a strategic visionary, who thinks about where a program or product line is heading or needs to go, while considering the technical aspects of how to get us there and then driving the implementation of that strategy across multiple programs
  • You will be a strong advocate for technical integrity of modeling and simulation products across multiple programs and product lines
  • You will be viewed as an expert and serve as a consultant to the organization to help develop technologies to achieve organization growth targets in modeling & simulation, algorithm development, or performance-related studies
  • You will be the technical expert in a team environment on diverse projects, providing solutions to create high fidelity simulations and models for missile system design, performance assessment, flight test support, trade studies and evaluations
  • You will work alone, or through oversight of teams, to solve the hardest Modeling and Simulation obstacles
  • You will oversee a technical team, mentor engineers, and/or manage an engineering project

Qualifications You Must Have :

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and twelve (12) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in the following areas:
    • Experience designing and performing analysis of high fidelity performance simulations
    • Experience programming in C, C++, or other high order language, using tools for evaluation of data sets, and UNIX/Linux based workstations
    • Experience providing Engineering expertise to previous programs, participating in project design reviews and/or peer reviews and preparing/delivering technical briefings to internal stakeholders and external customers
    • Must be the author of intellectual property (patent disclosures) and conference/journal publications in a modeling and simulation technical areas within the past ten (10) years
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer :

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM degree
  • Recognized technical authority in modeling and simulation, proven knowledge of fundamental concepts, high level of expertise to drive technical solutions and well known with established relationships in industry
  • A strategic visionary who does not operate in a silo, but can think about where a program or product line is heading or needs to go, while considering the technical aspects of how to get us there
  • Ability to participate in definition of team goals, provide solutions to complex technical tasks, mentor and advocate for respect, diversity and ethics
  • Complementary expertise in the areas of signal processing, guidance navigation & control, or hardware design and test
  • Business development experience including technical and cost proposal preparation and program management experience and familiarity with defense product lifecycles
  • Excellent verbal and written communications with internal and/or external customers and team members
  • Current Secret or Top Secret Department of Defense Clearance
