Project Manager
Jupiter Power is an energy infrastructure company focused on the development, construction, and operation of energy storage assets in wholesale electricity markets. Formed in 2017, the company is a national leader in energy storage deployment, utilizing its proprietary dispatch optimization applications to support both merchant and contracted structures. Backed by BlackRock's Diversified Infrastructure business, Jupiter Power has a strategic and established portfolio of 787.5/1375 of utility-scale energy storage projects operating or in construction in the U.S., with a leading pipeline of over 11,000 MW in active development.
We are currently seeking an office-based Project Manager who will manage utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Projects and Substation Projects. The Project Manager is the CEO of his or her assigned projects and in charge of Project Safety, Scheduling, the Project's Budget, Contract Management, and Construction Quality conforming to Jupiter Power's expectations.
This role will be Austin-based, and relocation assistance will be considered for qualified candidates.
The Project Manager will not be site-based; however, he or she is expected to travel to project sites as often as it is required by the project's needs.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Planning:
Manages the overall design of the project coordinating external and internal engineering resources.
Manages the project plan, hosts site kick-off in conjunction with the construction manager, and close out meetings for the project.
Ensures EPC issues daily JHA's and Plan of the Day.
Ensures EPC is on schedule and assists with schedule recovery plans as needed.
Manage design RFI's coordination with internal and external engineering resources.
Pro-actively engages landowners and ensures their expectations are met.
Safety Accountabilities:
Leads by example to show that safety is the most important function, ensuring that all employees follow safe practices while working.
Accountable to continually reinforce safe behaviors and correct "at risk" behaviors.
Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's) occurs before scopes of work commence.
Adheres to and ensures all site team members understand standard operating procedures.
Ensures new hires receive job- and task-specific training prior to commencing work (PM, Super's and CM's).
Leads and supports the site team in technical, quality and safety, utilizing systems in place.
EPC Relationship Management Accountabilities:
Provides excellence in the management and delivery of the project, in-line with Jupiter's expectations.
Strengthen and continually maintain EPC relationship.
Budget:
Accountable for the project budget, costs to date, forecasts cost to completion, procurement and materials management.
Contract:
Ensures EPC is following the Contract and reviews Change orders.
Manage field purchases of project related materials and equipment as required.
Maintains a full understanding of all contractual obligations for the project and documentation of variances.
Ensures that the overall terms of the main EPC contract are passed on to the subcontracts
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Must be familiar with Project Management process including Budgeting, Contract Negotiations, Change Order Negotiations, and Scheduling including the use of scheduling software. PMP Certification is a plus.
Must be versed in Construction safety (OSHA 30 training certificate is a plus)
Must have 5+ years of Construction experience, including on-site experience
Must have 2+ years of Supervisory experience in a Construction leadership role
Must have a valid driver's license, eligible for corporate vehicle insurance coverage.
Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport for travel outside the U.S.

Physical requirements and environment:
This role is office-based with travel required to other Jupiter offices, remote worksites, and construction sites. Candidates will be required to sit, stand, and drive for extended periods of time, and must be able to lift up to ten pounds repetitively.
Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background investigation and may be subject to drug tests as a condition of employment.
