Job description

Texas Health and Human Services Commission requires the services of 5 QA Engineer Automated 3 consultants.

QA Automation Engineers are responsible for designing and developing automated tests through scripts that execute testing functions automatically. Their role involves prioritizing test scenarios and creating detailed execution plans to implement these tests effectively. Additionally, they are tasked with documenting automated testing processes.
The selected candidate will engage in the following activities to achieve the team's goals:

Perform software quality assurance, testing, and support for TIERS, (url removed), YourTexasBenefits Mobile App, State Portal, Workflow Management, Eligibility Web Services, Enterprise Document Services, Enterprise Content Management, Document Center, Call Center Inquiry, and other Social Services applications.

Develop, enhance, maintain, and execute both existing and new test plans and scenarios to ensure the quality of various web-based J2EE/Portal applications within HHSC's SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) platform using Agile methodologies.

Participate in requirements analysis, test design, test data preparation, and the testing of various application components.

Collaborate with other teams to achieve shared objectives.

Create technical and design documentation as needed.

Utilize modern testing techniques to ensure applications perform correctly and are free of errors.

Provide technical support throughout testing and implementation phases.

Contribute to program design, coding, and test walk-throughs, offering insights on technical standards and customer requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Successful candidates will have:

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

A solid understanding and experience with core programming and testing concepts, particularly in the context of web-based UI applications.

A degree in computer science, computer information systems, engineering, or management information systems from an accredited four-year institution is strongly preferred.

Requirements: Candidates that do not meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements (skills/experience) will be displayed to customers but may not be chosen for this opportunity.

8yrs - Required - Experience/knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of software development and the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including knowledge of industry accepted software engineering practices and life cycle methods (Agile).

8yrs - Required - Knowledge of the limitations and capabilities of computer systems, information technology equipment, applicable programming languages, computer hardware and software, and computer operating systems.

8yrs - Required - Experience in analyzing requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, and write test plans and test scenarios to validate that the requirements are met within the application and/or business processes.

8yrs - Required - Skill analyzing software applications, defects, and business problems to draw evidence-based conclusions and devise innovative solutions

3yrs - Preferred - Skill using Client Unified Functional Testing (UFT), Katalon, Client LoadRunner, SoapUI, LoadUI, Selenium Client Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), Client Product Portfolio Management (PPM), SQL, XML, and running and creating interface files and running batch .

3yrs - Preferred - Experience working together with varied levels of development, testing staff, and end-users using Agile principles and methodologies

3yrs - Preferred - Hands on software quality assurance (manual and/or automated testing) experience using one or more of Client Unified Functional Testing (UFT), SoapUI, Selenium, Client Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), Client Product Portfolio Management (PPM), JIRA, JAMA, PLSQ

Work hours and location:

Services shall be provided during normal business hours unless otherwise coordinated through the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays when the agency is closed.

The working position is Telework.
