Raytheon is an industry leader in Stealth Technology. We are involved in all phases of development, production, and maintenance of Low Observable (LO) weapon systems. We are currently looking for Stealth / Low Observable / Radar Cross Section (RCS) / Signature Management / Survivability Engineers to work on challenging, state of the art technical projects.
We are seeking subject matter experts to join the Signature Management (Low Observable) & Technology Team. At Raytheon, you will be part of a team whose responsibilities span the full lifecycle of the product- from initial conceptual design to modeling and analysis, from component to missile level RCS testing, and production support to maintainability.
This will be onsite at our Tucson location.
What You Will Do
- Expert in supporting Radar Cross Section (RCS) measurement tests of developmental and production systems.
- Creating a test matrix and test plan, selecting radar parameters and RF feeds, document activities pertaining to test preparation, data analysis, design trades, prediction results, and others
- Configuring the lab data acquisition equipment; near field SCI, and far field Radarman instrumentation radar data collection system
- Configuring target support and positioning systems, ensuring that all needed special test devices are designed, fabricated, and/or purchased, ensuring that all needed fixturing is complete and correct Occasional travel for business, training, and conferences
- Coordinating with target handling and facilities personnel
- Performing early "quick look" of data; and performing data-processing, and/or analysis activities to ensure completeness of the data packages for the customer.
- With Engineering assistance provide basic radar trouble shooting as needed.
- Mentor early and mid-career engineers.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- Ten (10) years' experience in calibrating, or operating, and/or trouble shooting instrumentation radars for far field RCS (Radar Cross Section) measurements
- Experience using any RCS processing software for data analysis
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience in RCS Far Field measurements in various ranges (Direct Illumination Far Field, outdoor, indoor Compact Range, Taper or RCS)
- Experience in RF Near Field RCS measurements (planar, cylindrical or spherical)
- Experience with operating and/or maintaining the QuarterBranch RadarMan radar system
- Understanding of electromagnetic fundamentals
- Advanced radar system development or test experience
- Writing test plans, test procedures, and detailed test configuration documentation
- Experience with planning, scheduling, and estimating number of hours needed for work tasks
- Familiarity with the industry range certification effort and management of range handbook
