Job description

Our client is a premier industrial equipment company with over 100 years of experience in customized solutions for complex applications. Their new cutting-edge facility spans over 50,000 square feet of climate-controlled workspaces, offering a machine shop, new equipment manufacturing, and a fully-equipped engineering department. They are looking for a drafter to join their team.




OVERVIEW:
The Reverse Engineering Drafter will be responsible for reverse engineering various parts and assemblies, as well as developing work scopes for these projects.



RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Interpret and comprehend AutoCAD drawings, sketches, and related standards.
•Collaborate with the engineering team to apply design concepts and determine requirements for detailed working drawings.
•Measure parts using precision tools such as electronic metrology equipment, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and rulers.
•Work closely with pump shop staff to gather essential data for reverse engineering tasks.
•Maintain clear communication with customer service to provide updates on job progress and relay needs or hold points.
•Reverse engineer pump components, including impellers, pump cases, bearing housings, and more.
•Review RFQ details to ensure accuracy before drawing, and update information as necessary.
•Create assembly models and drawings, check fitment, and ensure proper running clearances.
•Operate CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) to collect data for part development.
•Perform first article inspections of castings.
•Develop work scopes for part repair.
•Assign new drawing numbers for parts not in the database as part of the RFQ process.




•Review work orders, print drawings, and assign tasks to the appropriate department.



QUALIFICATIONS:
•High school diploma (or GED with 3 years of relevant work experience)
•Drafting or technical degree preferred
•Experience with Inventor CAM and MasterCAM
•AutoCAD experience
•Experience in reverse engineering pump parts
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
