What You'll Do:

As our Scale Operator, you'll be the friendly face of our operation, guiding customers through the process of weighing their scrap metal shipments. You'll handle loads with our cutting-edge automated system, keep the yard informed, and ensure everything is processed smoothly. From managing inspection tickets and maintaining our radiation detection system to processing payments and staying updated on industry trends, your role will be both varied and vital.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Operating our automated system to weigh incoming and outgoing loads.
  • Collaborating with yard personnel to ensure smooth operations.
  • Managing inspection tickets and maintaining accurate inventory control.
  • Retrieving and analyzing data from our information systems.
  • Keeping our radiation detection system in top shape.
  • Handling over-the-scale payments and answering phone calls.
  • Embracing other tasks as needed to support our team.
What We're Looking For:
  • Basic computer skills and an interest in scrap metal commodities.
  • Understanding of transportation laws and weight regulations is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines with a smile.
  • Strong customer service skills and the capability to work independently.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED-equivalent.
  • At least one year of customer service experience.
