Design for Leisure (DFL) is a team of hydrothermal spa specialists working in partnership with owners, operators, architects and designers to bring European-inspired hydrotherapy concepts to life. Our expertise in building best-in-class wet areas ranges from small but luxurious residential thermal suites to the acclaimed hydrothermal circuit at the Venetian Resort (Las Vegas, NV), considered the largest day spa in the U.S.

What We're Looking For:

DFL is looking for a Plumbing/HVAC-R Technician willing to work in a fast-paced, multinational company. This position will require experience in installing and maintaining plumbing and HVAC-R systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing customer training and support. We are looking for a candidate who is eager to join a growing company in the unique wellness industry, has exemplary problem-solving and communication skills, with experience in construction or related industries.

What Your Day Looks Like:

Installation and Maintenance: Perform installations, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical equipment, plumbing systems, and ventilation systems for saunas, steam rooms, spa pools, experience showers, cold rooms, and snow rooms.

Collaboration: Work with our design team to ensure accurate piping and ventilation system designs, compliance with HVACR/plumbing/electrical codes, and correct equipment specifications.

Training: Provide clients with maintenance guidelines and conduct formal owner training and handover post-installation.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with steam generators, sauna heaters, hydronic heating manifolds, cooling and refrigeration systems, experiential showers, and digital control systems.

Specifying: Assist in specifying and procurement of specialty equipment for ventilation and heating/cooling applications.

Warranty Service: Provide high-quality customer service and explain technical details to non-technical customers.

Documentation: Accurately record all service and repair activities.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest technologies and techniques in the field.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members and other departments to ensure cohesive service delivery.

Required Skills:

HVAC-R Systems Expertise: Understanding of ventilation and refrigeration systems, electrical theory, and computer skills.

Plumbing: Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and installing copper, PVC, stainless steel, and PEX pipes and fittings. Experience with hydronic heating systems, pumps, filtration systems, drainage, and waterproofing.

Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including diagnosing and repairing faults in MEP systems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to lift 50 pounds independently and use power and hand tools.

Proven experience in customer service.

High school diploma or equivalent.

2 years of experience as a plumber, HVAC-R contractor, or service technician, or in a similar role.

Valid US Passport and driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Skills:

Technical certification such as, NATE, IAPMO, OSHA 30, or trade licenses, or degree.

Prior pool and aquatics experience.

Advanced diagnostic tools and software experience.

Familiarity with European spas and hydrothermal equipment.
