Job description

Title: Senior Logistics Specialist

Location: Coppell, TX 75019

Duration: 0-7 Year (Possible Extension)

Shift: 08 AM - 05 PM (Mon - Fri)

Pay Range: $25 to $28.37/Hour

MUST HAVE:

Experience with commercial invoicing, import/export terminology, and filing ACSs

Proficiency in Excel

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Oversee all operational activities at the distribution center for the Americas Region.

Ensure the implementation of standard operating procedures in shipping, receiving, and inventory movements.

Monitor freight carriers (KWE, EI, OMNI, FedEx Freight, etc.) and liaise with account managers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and compliance teams.

Ensure timely clearance and delivery of shipments.

Update Daily Management Reports (SQDIP) for Logistics and Warehouse operations.

Handle GL coding for freight payments using Bridgenet/USBank.

Resolve issues related to the Vendor Problem Shelf (VPS) and Returns Problem Shelf (RPS).

Process international shipping documents and government shipment filings daily.

Conduct AES (Automated Export System) filing.

Manage inventory operations such as cycle counts, physical inventory (PI), and locator optimization, implementing 5S methodologies.

Ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction for both inbound and outbound shipments.

Address customer queries and complaints related to shipping activities.

Lead or participate in Kaizen/Workshop projects with internal and external teams.

Monitor and optimize shipping activities to meet KPI targets for Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, and Productivity.

Analyze logistics and warehousing KPIs and present business cases for continuous improvement.

Ensure compliance with Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations.

Enforce compliance with import/export regulations, including customs, export control, and trade compliance.

Monitor dangerous goods and temperature-controlled shipments for safety and regulatory compliance.

Propose cost-saving ideas and process improvements in transportation, warehousing, packaging, and supply chain operations.

Drive improvement initiatives with contract service providers.

Education & Work Experience Requirements:

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding or transportation operations.

Bachelor's Degree (B.S. or B.A.) or an Associate's Degree/High School Diploma with 5+ years of equivalent experience in supply chain.

Additional Requirements:

Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Self-motivated and willing to take on additional responsibilities.

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and Oracle.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Manage special projects as assigned.

Familiarity with AES filing, HTS classifications, ECCN, and country of origin identification.

IATA/DG certification is a plus.
