Heidelberg Materials -South Texas Stabilized Sand operates 23 Pugmill Plants conveniently located throughout the Greater Houston area, along with one Pugmill Plant in the Victoria, Texas area. The Aransas Pass location also has a crushing operation with crushing equipment on site. We take great pride in having provided excellent customer service and top-quality materials for over 27 years. The Area Operations Manager will oversee the Corpus Christi, Aransas Pass, and Victoria, TX sites.

What you'll get to do

• Lead the safety culture by example, ensuring a safe working environment at all assigned plants.

• Coach Managers on customer service and address the needs of the customer daily.

• Direct the PUG mill operations to achieve maximum productivity, efficiency and quality while maintaining production costs.

• Recruit and hire plant personnel to support the operations.

• Train and develop the team to maximize efficiencies and provide a pipeline of talent.

• Coordinate and plan stabilized production schedules to meet market needs.

• Analyze plant performance and evaluate modifications and capital improvements to increase efficiencies and reduce costs.

• Oversee maintenance of plants and plant equipment.

• Communicate, coach and lead assigned plant managers to achieve organizations goals.

• Lead a team of 10-15 managers and plant personnel which includes plant operators, loader operators and laborers.

• Participate in forecasting, budgeting and planning strategies.

Essential Experience and Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management or a related field, or five years progressive construction materials management experience, pug mill operations or fleet management

• Excellent personal interaction and organizational skills as well as presentation and leadership skills

• Computer competency using Outlook, MS Office, PowerPoint

• Demonstrated commitment to customer service

• Excellent communication skills

• Multi - Unit experience a plus

Work Environment

• Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions
