Position Purpose: The Community Construction Manager must believe in, practice and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME. They must be Honest, Objective, Mature and Efficient in how he or she approaches their role at Green Brick Partners.
Centre Living Homes is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Manager to join our team. As a Construction Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the construction process of our spec homes. We have a streamlined and efficient process that relies on our Buildpro scheduling software, internal quality controls, and a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
Construction Management: Oversee all aspects of the construction process, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Project Planning: Collaborate with the design and development teams to develop comprehensive construction plans and schedules for each spec home project.
Resource Management: Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services with effective and precises communication.
Quality Control: Implement and enforce strict quality control measures to ensure that all construction work meets or exceeds industry standards and customer expectations.
Budgeting and Cost Management: Monitor project budgets and expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and work closely with the finance team to control construction costs.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all building codes, regulations, and safety standards throughout the construction process.
Communication and Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and internal teams.
Problem Solving: Identify and address construction-related issues and challenges proactively, finding innovative solutions to minimize delays and maximize efficiency.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine construction processes and systems to optimize efficiency and maintain competitiveness within the industry.
Leadership and Mentorship: Provide feedback and support to the construction team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a Construction Manager or similar role, with a strong background in residential construction.
Extensive knowledge of construction processes, codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Proficiency in using construction management software and tools, with experience in Buildpro scheduling software being highly desirable.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a focus on teamwork, collaboration, and mentoring.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to construction sites as needed.
Supervision of Others: Vendors, Trades and Assistant Construction Managers
Authority/Budget/Decision Making/Discretion and Independent Judgment Ability: This position has the ability to approve vendor payments and has supervision responsibilities over vendors and Assistant Construction Managers.
Physical Requirements: Must have a vehicle capable of carrying supplies, valid driver's license and be willing to drive among designated communities in daytime and nighttime.
Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; climb, balance and stoop, crouch or crawl; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
