AECOM is seeking a motivated, technically-experienced team leader to serve as Electrical Department Manager based in Houston, Austin or Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will have a passion for leading technically proficient teams, designing custom solutions, mentoring mid-level and junior staff, managing the electrical team workload and developing calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications for the electrical design work on exciting and complex projects.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

The Electrical Department Manager should be capable of leading and developing teams to complete building engineering projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external clients is required. Candidate must be well organized, be able to demonstrate critical thinking and can quickly recognize issues and be part of the solution.

As Electrical Department Manager, you will be expected to:

Be self-motivated with strong work ethic and take pride in your work

Serve as a Discipline Leader for our Texas team

Complete Electrical power and lighting designs for building projects of all sizes

Make major design recommendations and design decisions with little input from senior staff

Plan design work, calculates costs, and time schedules to assign design duties to junior staff working on projects

Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, mechanical, technology and equipment suppliers

Maintain accurate project documentation and design data for permanent project files

Act as an adviser and reviews correspondence prepared by junior project team members

Evaluate project staffing requirements, analyzes problems, and writes reports

Attend project meetings, or when appropriate, delegates activities

Meet with clients, prepares proposals and presentations while maintaining good client relations

Identify prospective clients, assists in marketing to develop new clients, and develops future projects with existing clients

Assist in project checking for quality control on other projects

Have knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans and drawings

Switch between work on multiple/different projects daily

Represent the organization and maintains liaison with individuals and related organizations
