Education/Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience; relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP) are a plus.

Job Description:

The IT Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the IT department. This role involves overseeing the infrastructure, managing a team of IT professionals, ensuring system reliability, and implementing policies and procedures to support business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT management, excellent problem-solving skills, and hands-on technical expertise to directly engage in IT operations and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Assist in oversight of our MSP's maintenance, upgrading, and support of the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and hardware.

Defines and monitors key performance indicators to ensure the department is effective and efficient, and delivering on internal and external customer expectations.

Performs root cause analysis for major events and develops a post-mortem document/presentation as needed to review the cause and identify any areas for process improvement and implement safeguards to minimize or avoid similar events.

Hands-on management and troubleshooting of network devices, servers, and storage systems.

Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient IT operations and compliance with industry standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

Monitor system performance and proactively address any issues to minimize downtime.

Directly involved in system optimization and performance tuning activities.

Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure quality service delivery and cost-effectiveness.

Assist with contracts and procurement of IT services and equipment.

Coordinate with other departments to understand and fulfill their IT needs.

Monitor expenditures and provide financial reports to senior management as needed.

Ensure business continuity by planning and preparing for potential IT disruptions.

Conduct hands-on testing and validation of disaster recovery plans.

Oversee the implementation of security measures to protect against cyber threats and unauthorized access.

Troubleshoot network issues including connectivity problems and performance bottlenecks.

Perform system upgrades, patches, and backups.

Provide technical support for software applications and operating systems.

Hands-on setup and maintenance of hardware including workstations, printers, and peripherals.

Use monitoring tools to oversee system health and performance.

Respond to and resolve system alerts and failures.

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience; relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP) are a plus.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management or a related role.

Proven experience in managing IT operations, including infrastructure, systems, and personnel.

Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, hardware, software, and public cloud.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Experience with budget management and financial reporting is a plus.

Knowledge of IT security principles and best practices.

Hands-on technical expertise in network, server, and database management.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
