Corgan is actively recruiting a dynamic Payroll Specialist to join the firm as part of our Account Shared Services team. Tackle these responsibilities alongside a team of creative, highly motivated individuals who are passionate about their work and ready to collaborate to achieve outstanding results. Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the payroll function for all corporate entities.
Will have direct contact with accounting and human resource managers, CHRO, CFO and Controller and will report to the Assistant Controller
Process multi-state / international payroll on a semi-monthly / monthly basis for 1,200+ employees.
Coordinate the timely review and processing of all employee timesheets, ensuring FLSA compliance and validating accuracy in accordance with company policy and client billing requirements.
Collaborate with HR and IT on a regular and recurring basis to ensure that employee payroll information is complete and accurate.
Obtain and maintain federal, state, and local tax registrations needed to process payroll.
Perform federal, state, and local tax filings on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Upload 401k deduction and employer matching information to 401k provider.
Process involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments.
Assist with bonus and premium pay calculations.
Process and validate year-end W-2 forms for all employees.
Verify direct deposit information for employees as necessary.
Research federal, state, and local tax law regarding payroll earnings and deductions as necessary.
Process and address all incoming employee inquiries and requests on a regular and recurring basis.
Provide audit support as necessary.
Complete special projects and various ad hoc requests on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications:
Must be proactive, results-driven, and able to excel in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Have outstanding organizational ability with a high attention to detail.
Able to communicate effectively and efficiently with staff members of all levels on a regular and recurring basis.
Experience managing and processing multi-state / international payroll within a large organization.
Experience processing payroll in a billed labor / billable hour environment highly preferred.
Possess a thorough understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
Knowledge of payroll tax legislation on a federal and state level.
Possess strong analytical skills and effectively analyze data to uncover actionable insights.
Comfortable with daily inter-department collaboration.
Experience with ADP, UKG, and Ceridian preferred but not required.
Qualified candidates should exhibit strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
5 years of payroll experience.
