We have an exciting opportunity for an onsite Principal Industrial Automation Programmer to join our Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) directorate in Dallas, Texas. TEE is a multi-discipline organization responsible for contributing to the development of test solutions for all Raytheon products. Typical work involves designing interface assemblies, selection and integration with test instruments and environments, to develop a test system for all Raytheon products including both lab engineering and factory production test systems. The Principal Industrial Automation Programmer will be responsible for the design development, integration and validation of robotic hardware and software test solutions for multiple production programs using engineering best practices. What You Will Do Work with hardware, software, and program engineers to design and develop robotic software automation solutions that place multiple program products on test fixtures for production testing
Implement system software engineering best practices in planning, development, and execution of scope, schedule, and budget
Effectively communicate technical information in formal design review settings
Provide hands on support to product testing within an engineering and production test environment
Share knowledge and provide mentoring to other engineers on the Multi-Functional RF Test Solutions robotics team
Support the Section Manager in the execution of the Multi-Functional RF Test Solutions department goals
Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior experience
Experience with PC based controls using C# for graphic user interface (GUI) and control logic
Experience in developing fully automated Robotics/Motion Controlled systems from design to sustainment (complete life cycle) in a 24/7 production environment.
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
Experience with robot programming (e.g., UR, Omron, Yaskawa, Adept, Fanuc, etc.), OR motion control programming (e.g., Parker, Moog, SMAC, etc.)
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer Experience in hardware product selection to meet machine design requirements.
Experience with Machine Vision (e.g., OpenCV, Matrox, etc.)
Experience with configuration management tools
Visual Basic for applications (VBA)
Able to interface with persons of multiple disciplines and job functions including computer engineers, electrical engineers, program managers, technicians, and information security team members
Experience with C, C++ or Microsoft Visual Studio programming

North Texas: The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
