Overview:
The Proposal Writer Level III (herein referred to as proposal writer) is responsible for developing high-quality, compelling, and compliant proposals that win new business and retain current business for MV. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing the proposal process, and ensuring all proposals align with the company's strategic goals and customer requirements. The proposal writer will also be responsible for mentoring the writer team and ensuring the continuous improvement of the proposal development process. This position has no direct reports.

The proposal writer is a key sales and client proposals group member who works side by-side with a diverse and expert cross-functional team. The proposal writer unites operational detail, project strategies, and bid compliance to create a persuasive and concise narrative that effectively communicates the company's value proposition to each potential customer. MV's proposal writer is integral to selling MV's service at the best value.

Job Responsibilities:

Proposal Development:

Lead the development of proposals from start to finish, including writing, editing, and reviewing proposal content.

Ensure all proposals comply with the RFP requirements and reflect the company's strengths and differentiators.

Develop win themes and ensure they are effectively communicated throughout the proposal.

Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and synthesize technical information into clear and persuasive proposal content.

Project Management:

Manage the proposal development process, including setting timelines with the Bid Managers, assigning tasks, and coordinating inputs from various departments.

Oversee multiple proposals simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met.

Utilize proposal management software and tools to organize and track proposal progress.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the business development, sales, and marketing teams to ensure alignment on proposal strategy.

Interview individuals to gain insight into writing compelling and persuasive resumes and biographies

Participate in multiple calls relative to the strategy and status of projects

Quality Assurance:

Review and edit proposal content for clarity, consistency, and grammar, ensuring a professional and polished final product.

Ensure that relevant stakeholders internally review all proposals and incorporate their feedback.

Mentorship and Training:

Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to proposal writers and other team members involved in the proposal process.

Promote best practices in proposal writing and continuously improve the quality of the team's output.

Continuous Improvement:

Develop and maintain a library of standard proposal content, templates, and other resources to streamline the proposal process.

Analyze past proposals, win/loss data, and feedback to identify areas for improvement.

Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies that can enhance the proposal process.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field OR minimum of 3 years of experience in proposal writing.

Proven history of winning large, complex proposals, preferably in the transit industry.
