Overview:

As a Fleet Feet Retail Operations Manager, you will ensure operational excellence and superior customer service by leading a team of Retail Experience Managers, Inventory Managers, and Retail Sales Associates, or Outfitters, as we call them. The Operations Manager will work in partnership with the Operating Partner and is accountable for the successful day-to-day operations of multiple Fleet Feet retail stores. Our Operations Manager steers top-level productivity, modeling the passion, commitment, and customer service Fleet Feet is known for. Through people, performance, and processes, you will generate maximum sales and profitability. This position will have oversight or work to directly support merchandise, expense control, human resources management, and store operating costs. We are looking for a results-driven leader to be responsible for the overall store, customer, and community experience.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the stores and ensure that the stores meet or exceed sales goals and profitability targets.

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Retail Experience Managers and Inventory Managers to achieve operational excellence and foster a customer-centric environment.

Recruit, select, and cultivate a high-performing team.

Provide leadership, motivation, and direction to the team.

Utilize coaching, counseling, and corrective action techniques to enhance employee performance.

Identify and develop employees with potential to grow by using tools such as on-the-job training, performance metrics, and performance reviews.

Leader in customer engagement and education as it relates to proper fit, product usage, and injury treatment and prevention.

Ensure a high level of customer service is maintained.

Ensure the successful implementation and consistent upholding of the Fleet Feet Outfitting Experience

Provide ongoing training for staff to enhance skills and knowledge.

Oversee daily store operations, ensuring systems, processes, and schedules are optimized for maximum efficiency.

Implement effective inventory management measures and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed.

Oversee the layout and visual presentation of merchandise and ensure that displays are attractive and follow brand guidelines.

In partnership with the Community Outreach Director, build a strong customer base and drive sales growth by supporting store events and programs.

Take initiative within your store(s) by finding opportunities that tackle customer problems and create additional revenue within our area of expertise.

Create or assist with employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage for store operations based on day-to-day sales volumes.

Address customer and employee questions and concerns in a timely, professional manner.

Other duties as required and assigned by the Operating Partner

Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in multi-unit retail leadership and operations, or 5+ years of experience in single-door retail leadership and operations

Proven track record in providing exceptional retail customer experience and in people leadership

Builds and maintains trust from the team, staff, and customers by using sound judgment

Passionate, positive, self-motivated and detail-oriented

Collaborative and customer-centric

Willing to go above and beyond when needed

Support all Fleet Feet initiatives, activities, and functions

Additional Requirements: Position requires occasional moving around with light (1-10lbs.) carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling. The position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access files, office equipment, etc. The position is mostly sedentary and requires the employee to have close visual acuity to perform job requirements. The position requires frequent communication with team members and repetitive motion with the hands, wrists and/or fingers while constantly utilizing a computer. This position is located within an office environment and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
