Senior Audio/Visual (AV) Technician
Location: On-Site, Government Facility, Dallas, TX
Position Type: Full-Time Job Summary: iitjobs is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. AV Technician to join our team at a government facility in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced audiovisual systems in a live environment. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work independently in a high-demand environment, and great customer communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Setup:
• Install, configure, and test AV equipment including projectors, sound systems, video conferencing systems, and control systems.
• Ensure all AV systems are set up according to specifications and client requirements.
Live Event & Production Support:
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV equipment for live events and productions, including camera, audio and video equipment.
• Provide real-time technical support during events to ensure seamless execution.
• Identify risks with any last-minute customer requests that may affect the operation of the event.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
• Perform regular maintenance and updates on AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to AV systems, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime.
Event Leadership:
• Coordinate with on-site clients, vendors, and IC production team members to ensure seamless project execution.
• Coordinate with event organizers to ensure all AV requirements are met.
Compliance & Security:
• Adhere to government regulations and security protocols related to AV systems and installations.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs. Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in AV technology and system integration, preferably in a government or corporate setting.
• 1-2 years experience with live productions preferred.
• CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification is a plus.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in the installation and operation of AV systems, including Vaddio, Shure, Aurora AV over IP, QSYS and Poly Conferencing systems.
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and AV over IP.
• Experience with video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Cisco Webex.
Soft Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
