Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Business Technology (NBT) is seeking qualified applicants for the Senior Buyer position. The candidate must fully understand and demonstrate success in supporting Nucor's vision of Growing the Core, Expanding Beyond, and Living our Culture. This includes taking care of our customers through operational and commercial excellence, contributing to being the world's safest steel company, and living each day with gratitude to those who make our work possible.

The specific responsibilities of the Senior Buyer include, but are not limited to:

• Contract negotiations.
• Analyze and recommend process improvements for the Purchasing department.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices as needed.
• Train internal teammates to issue their purchase requisitions correctly.
• Be a source of information for the Purchasing department to all teammates.
• Exhibit a high level of quality customer service to the Nucor team.

Depending on experience, position could also be filled at a Buyer or Buyer II level

This is a fulltime, permanent position with the NBT Purchasing team and is based in Irving, TX. Some travel will be required.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3 years experience with Oracle EBS

• 1 year experience in contract negotiation

• Associate's degree in Business, IT, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Business, IT or a related field

• Experience in the IT industry

• Experience with Oracle EBS and/or PSI

• Proven experience in negotiating with vendors
