The purpose of the Senior Construction Safety Manager is to create, inspire, and maintain a "Everyone Goes Home Safe safety culture. This position will lead, direct, facilitate, and support project safety initiatives for our renewable energy client's construction projects. The Construction Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring the completion of safety audits and inspections as well as all required internal and external reporting obligations are met, including weekly reporting of site safety metrics. Through planning, leading, evaluating, and continuously improving the awareness and practice of safe construction methods, the manager will strive to create an environment encouraging a collaborative working spirit and an integrated project culture.
What you will be doing:
Be in the field 50-75% of the time collaborating with operations site leadership to outline project safety goals, and coordinating with subcontractors to verify they're adhering to project safety expectations.
Lead and manage 3 rd party EHS Techs/Safety Managers.
Fill-in for Project EHS Techs/Safety Managers as required.
Control hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through safety management and collaboration with project leadership.
Lead project safety-related pre-planning.
Conduct work area inspections and audits to ensure continued compliance and monitor non-compliant findings to closure.
Ensure safety policies and procedures are adhered to at assigned projects.
Partner with site leadership in the investigation and documentation of all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities.
Employ strategies to avoid loss/restricted-time accidents.
Review documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures, and implement appropriate corrective action as required.
Create and manage relationships with all job site employees to ensure safety program alignment and accountability for reporting safety issues.
Manage safety plans and goals to ensure objectives are being met. Develop plans to assist team in meeting goals.
Act as a safety resource and mentor for project staff.
Assist senior safety leadership in planning for high-risk activities.
What we expect from you:
Bachelor's Degree in occupational safety and/or health required, Masters preferred.
Minimum of ten-years' experience in construction and/or industrial safety required.
First aid and/or CPR certification preferred.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification required.
Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification preferred.
Familiar with Gensuite Incident Management software.

Employee is occasionally required to ascend and/or descend a ladder or stairs to reach
work areas.
The employee must regularly move up to 20 pounds and occasionally move up to 50 pounds.
The employee is regularly required to travel (as vehicle driver and as passenger on various modes of transportation) and frequently performs work on-site at construction work sites.
Specific abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Employee views computer monitor regularly.
The employee is required to be able to effectively communicate while on the job site and throughout the completion of duties.
The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to maintain safety and prevent exposure to harmful materials.
The environment for which this position functions may be exposed to prolonged loud noises and may contain scents and fragrances.
Will be required to work overtime and weekends as project needs warrant.
