Job description
Telecom Network Operator
Contract Role: 6 months, continuous extension
100% onsite: Dallas TX 75202
Hourly Pay Rate: $26 on w2 (benefits available, not included in hourly rate)
Summary:
Familiar with the telecommunications network design and architecture.
Provide support for the implementation of new systems and in the diagnosis of network problems. Works with vendors and service providers in order to assist in the diagnosis and resolution of network problems. T
Provide a secondary technical support role on a major network system and may provide support for other, smaller systems.
General knowledge of design standards, applicable regulations, and codes.
Familiar with and gain an increased knowledge of the technical support requirements and procedures for the specific technologies and equipment supported including the provisioning of services, system documentation requirements, and asset management requirements. .
Responsibilities :
The Telecom Network Operator is the technical expert on multiple telecommunication protocols and is responsible for ensuring that the network is performing to optimum capacity. Depending on assignment, the Telecom Network Operator may work independently or under the supervision of a lead. Duties of this Telecom Network Engineer include:
• Strong understanding of Video Monitoring and Access Control systems
• Planning and implementing changes to the Transport network to ensure adherence to all Change Management policies and procedures
• Striving to resolve all issues and to identify the root cause of every problem
• Coordinating all planned outages
• Communicating with verbal and written status reports as required
• Adhering to safe work practices to support the goal of no reportable accidents within IT
• Keeping abreast of technology changes, evaluating and recommending network components and developing documentation and installation standards for these components
• FAA tower lighting notifications
• Updating system and procedures documentation for all network hardware on the document database
• Performing end-to-end analysis on the transport network through a capacity/availability/response time analysis
• Assisting in the training of new candidates
• Providing primary support for at least one major system (microwave, two-way radio, wireless LAN, etc) and secondary support on multiple minor systems
• Being on call - the transport network is a 24x7 operation and all personnel will be on call in the event of a problem
• The Network Operator is responsible for the operation, monitoring, and control
Pay Details: $21.00 to $26.00 per hour
