The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

Responsibilities:
Job Purpose
To oversee and manage day to day overall supply chain operations - maximize efficiency, reduce risk, and minimize cost of organization's supply chain. Work effectively with the plant operations teams, engineering, and accounting to deliver on customer (both internal and external) demands. Coach and mentor site level supply chain personnel in professional growth and retention.
Summary
This position is hands on and directly accountable for the Supply Chain activities of Purchasing, Production Planning, Inventory Control, Warehousing, Shipping, Receiving, Distribution, and Logistics. This position is a direct report to the Site Leader and influences decision making with or without authority, facilitates groups with diverse perspectives, and brings teams to agreement. This position is required to be on-site and have a hands-on approach to supply chain management. This role will be the Primary Customer contact. This role will be instrumental in the start up and development of the Supply Chain for this location including ERP transition and implementation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
SIOP and Production Planning Management - Works to develop and deploy BU Sales, Inventory, Operations, & Planning process, per the Morgan Production System, including but not limited to:
Direct management of the planning processes and resources.
Ownership of SIOP process including managing SIOP meetings, data accuracy and availability, developing SIOP tools, and subsequent communication of planning outcomes to relevant stakeholders (i.e. operations, commercial, and NPI teams).
Leads Site Planning function monthly adjustment cycle to translate the Long Range Plan into Daily and Medium Range Plans in order to create and maintain an accurate Master Production Schedule that continually meets the forecast demand.
Issue manufacturing work orders based on Master Production Schedule, monitor work order variances, utilizing process and discrete manufacturing and rate scheduling.
Collaborate cross-functionally in product lifecycle planning (ramp up/ramp down planning), on formalizing supply commits, understand gating constraints, and in formulating effective mitigation strategies to balance supply with demand
Analyze data, including enterprise requirements planning information and prepares consolidated managerial reports, as needed, to facilitate and recommend actions that ensure plant/product line optimal Supply Chain execution.
Maintains the BU level LeanDNA Supply Chain Analytics and SIOP Effectiveness metrics.
Develop and execute a system to integrate best-practice SIOP/planning processes into new ERP system.
Inventory, Warehouse, and Shipping/Receiving Management - Supports key Strategy Deployment projects with goals to manage inventory for accuracy and optimum levels.
Maintain shipping, receiving, staging, kitting and storage areas that are compliant, efficient and safe.
Manages all cycle-counting and full inventory functions at all manufacturing and warehouse locations.
Direct management responsibility of kitting and shipping/receiving staff members.
Develop and execute plans to hit working capital targets (ex. Achieve inventory turn targets, E&O management) and meet customer agreement frameworks (ex. LTA inventory clauses) including stock management and consignment management.
Procurement Management- Responsible for forecasting, material procurement, production planning, rate setting, cost savings, outsourcing and vendor management.
Direct management of full site procurement team including Buyer roles.
Collaborate with multiple-functional managers and global planning teams to implement good planning practices including level loading, time fencing, and other planning strategies
Plans, manages, and coordinates all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the changing levels of product demand.
Develops operational strategies and establishes direct relationships with strategic suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, on-cost performance, and mitigate supply chain risks.
Develop and execute a system to integrate best-practice procurement processes into the new ERP system.
Talent Management - Continually infuse growth (professional and personal) into the Supply Chain teams, in the effort to not only attract but retain the best talent available.
Works with the HR Business Partner to establish an effective organizational structure and staff responsibilities. Provides for staff training and development.
Establishes and implements procedures and systems for all Supply Chain Department activities.
Evaluate operational performance of the group in order to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, transfers, dismissals, commendations, etc.
Assure that departmental personnel develop a culture of continuous improvement mindset

Qualifications:

Education and Experience - Minimum level of education and experience required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Fluency in local language; Ability to speak English fluently at an intermediate or above level required.
A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain along with manufacturing operations knowledge.
Minimum 2 - 4 years of experience managing or supervising operations and supply chain.
Be capable of utilizing spreadsheet and ERP-type software in managing the planning process.
Exceptional interpersonal/written communication skills; can effectively interact with all levels of management
Experience with a start up or product transfer is a plus.
APICS (American Product and Inventory Control Society) supply chain certification is a plus.
Lean Six Sigma experience and/or certification is a plus
