Job description

Job Summary

The Administrative Director of Security plans and directs the operational, budgetary, and staff activities of the Security and Transportation Department. Promotes a philosophy of a safe and secure environment and within customer-oriented care and services. Promotes the safety, security and property protection program. Maintains a secure hospital through training, security assessments, equipment, and protocols established by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Establishes and reviews hospital and Departmental policies and organizational processes to assure goals and objectives for a safe and secure environment for all patients and visitors are accomplished. Ensures Associates and Physician partners are thoroughly integrated with hospital operations and improve security activities. Implements strategies set by senior leadership.

Minimum Job Requirements

Work Experience:

Five years of progressive work experience in security, or related areas in a healthcare setting, experience particularly in a law enforcement agency is required.

Five years in leadership or management role are required.

License/Registration/Certification:

Certified Protection Professional (CPP) preferred.

Education and Training

A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.

Commissioned Peace Officer training required.

  3. Ability to express ideas clearly in written documents, presentations or verbal interactions that have accurate organization, structure, grammar, language and terminology suited to the needs and characteristics of the audience.
  4. Flexible, open-minded, adaptable to change.
  5. Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills, as evidenced by the capacity to prioritize multiple roles and functions. Demonstrated results-orientation.
  7. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in interactions with patients/families, physicians, regulatory agencies.
  8. Strong analytical, data management and computer skills.
  9. Self-motivated, proven communication skills, confident and persuasive interactions with management and staff-level colleagues.
  10. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  11. Must successfully complete and pass a Criminal Background Check and have no prior criminal history.
