Audiology Technician
Place of Performance: Fort Bliss, TX

Specific Tasks:
Seeing SMs is our top priority; wait time should be kept to a minimum.
Shall see the patient per hour average of the other collective CPs, unless affected by circumstances beyond their control, which shall be reported to the Section OIC/NCOIC or designee.
Shall comply with all MTF productivity standards and maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.
Shall receive service members, explain methods of procedures, position service members, perform diagnostic radiographic service to service members.
Technologists shall perform independent audiology examinations.
Shall perform otoscopic examinations and rotate as scheduled.
Shall conducts hearing tests in multi-person sound booth using DOEHRS-HC and rotate as scheduled to include sanitizing or disinfecting.
Shall restock supplies, maintain, clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments, equipment, and worksurfaces.
Shall complete daily function checks & biological calibrations.
Shall review test results for quality control, contrast, detail, and adequate demonstration of hearing.
Shall document test results.
Shall maintain documentation of all tests provided in accordance with directives and prepare such records and reports as may be required by the policy.
Ensure all documentation and reports are legible and complete.
Documentation shall meet or exceed established standards to include but not limited to timeliness, legibility, accuracy, content and signature.
Shall comply with all MTF productivity standards and maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.
Seek advice of consultants when appropriate.
Advise the Medical Commander of the clinic where contracted services are being provided of any problems encountered or anticipated in connection with meeting the needs of service members treated.
Abide by all facility rules, regulations, and policies.
Perform all duties in such a manner that they meet all Joint Commission standards.
Safety is everyones responsibility, if you notice an unsafe act/process, please cease it, and communicate it to the OIC or designee.
Continuing problems of any nature shall be reported in writing to the COR.
Complete each encounter at the end of the day and appropriately close the record.
Shall comply with all health requirements, immunizations, and vaccinations.
Shall complete all DoD, DHA, and MTF-specified training requirements.
Shall personally record hours worked in the Defense Medical Human Resources System internet (DMHRSi) system, or other system, as required by the MTF.

Education:
High school equivalent or completion of an occupational hearing conservationists course or show evidence of training and certification obtained through the Army, Navy, or Air Force hearing programs.

Certification:
Certification as a Hearing Conservationist by the Council of Accreditation of Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOCH) is highly desired but not required.

Experience:
Possess a minimum of one year experience within the last three years working as a full-time Audiology Technician.

Additional Certification:
Possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. The American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers is the only program accepted. BLS recertification shall be maintained in a current status at all times.
