Job Title: Director of Surgical Services

Location: El Paso, TX

Shift: Full-time, Variable Shifts (No Weekends)

Salary: $100,422 - $125,548 annually

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Surgical Services to lead and manage the perioperative team at a full-service, acute-care hospital in El Paso. The Director will have 24/7 responsibility for surgical services and will focus on providing safe, high-quality patient care while effectively managing the operations of the surgical department. This role requires a strong leader who can develop and implement strategies to improve patient care, engage staff, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the perioperative team to deliver safe and effective patient care across surgical services

Identify and resolve potential issues affecting surgical services, implementing solutions with clear communication and follow-through

Actively participate in hospital-wide committees, representing surgical services and maintaining ongoing communication

Drive a positive customer experience within surgical services, ensuring patient satisfaction

Provide coaching and feedback to staff, supporting individual development and documenting job performance

Build strong relationships with staff and stakeholders to achieve organizational and departmental goals

Monitor compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety guidelines

Oversee the surgical services program, ensuring continuous quality improvement and consistent compliance with standards of care

Implement and evaluate a Performance Improvement (PI) program to monitor and assess critical aspects of care

Participate in employee and patient rounding, mentoring future leaders and fostering employee engagement

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing required

Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred

Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in surgical services or a related field preferred

Current registered professional nurse license in the state of Texas

Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred

Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) certification preferred
