Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering Combat Systems, the Director of Emerging Technologies will lead a large team of engineers driving advancements in AI, fusion, and cyber technologies within the Combat Systems (CS) organization. As these fields become increasingly critical to customers and the future of the industry, this role will be essential in shaping technology roadmaps, ensuring collaboration across business areas, and fostering a culture of innovation. The Director will also work closely with other Lockheed Martin Lines of Business (LOBs), the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), and Security teams to ensure that technologies are secure, compliant, and meet all necessary regulations and standards.
What You Will Be Doing:
• Provide vision and strategic direction for the development of AI, fusion, and cyber technologies, including architecture design and integration of new features into existing infrastructures while maintaining system integrity and security.
• Lead teams responsible for the entire lifecycle of AI, fusion, and cyber solutions, from planning and development to validation, verification, and cybersecurity test and evaluation.
• Implement AI, fusion, and cyber solutions in weapon systems, development, production, and sustainment operations, providing strategic oversight to architects and developers.
• Ensure compliance with DoD policies to maintain Authorization to Operate, providing critical oversight to safeguard infrastructure and products from cyber threats.
• Drive exploitation and penetration testing within the Aero Cyber Range, leading the development and sustainment of AI, fusion, and cyber capabilities for Combat Systems.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, providing leadership and guidance to the engineering team to keep Lockheed Martin at the forefront of innovation.
• Develop strategies to integrate AI, fusion, and cyber technologies into existing and new products, ensuring these solutions are delivered ethically, responsibly, and securely.
• Collaborate with customers to understand their needs, and ensure that AI, fusion, and cyber technologies meet their requirements and provide competitive capabilities.
• Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, academia, and government agencies, representing Combat Systems in forums and conferences.
• Manage budgets and resources for the development and deployment of AI, fusion, and cyber technologies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
This role is critical for shaping the future of emerging technologies at Lockheed Martin and delivering innovative, secure solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

• Bachelor's degree • Demonstrated technical and people leadership experience including leading large diverse and dynamic multi-discipline engineering teams • Ability to lead digital transformation • Demonstrated corrective action and problem-solving skills
Desired Skills:
• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years relevant experience • Experience in complex AI, cyber and fusion development with multi-discipline engineering teams • Broad based Program Management experience: managing large performance efforts delivering cost, schedule and financial outcomes. • Experience working with US Services and International Customers • Cultural Catalyst - Demonstrated ability to manage and change culture within a large organization that results in improved performance • Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience engaging and presenting in executive level meetings • Ability to obtain Special Program Access
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
