Join KACE and make a difference! About the role: Lead daily activities and assignments of National Law Enforcement Communications Center (NLECC) Alarm Technician personnel at Dulles and Ft. Worth. Ensure alarm database entry and accuracy, run reports, and serve as primary point of contact for alarm maintenance and support issues. This position operates in a 24/7 environment including nights, weekends, and holidays. Dispatchers will work the hours and/or shifts assigned and begin and end work on time.
All activities involve the use of computer technology, which requires a high level of accuracy, concentration, attention to detail, and multi-tasking. Prerequisites: Must meet the requirements of an Alarm Technician. (Must have a minimum of one (1) year of favorable work experience in the alarm monitoring, installation and/or service industry).
Lead Alarm Technician position must be in the process of being vacated or vacant prior to promotion.
Must be an NLECC Alarm Technician, or equivalent for a minimum of twelve (12) months.
Must have received above average performance ratings as measured by the supplier's performance rating system.
Must be able to run reports from databases (RAMIV experience preferred), program alarm panels, and operate alarm monitoring software.
Must be able to create reports, documents, and correspondence using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Must possess strong communication skills and be able to communicate complex information to technical as well as non-technical personnel.
Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work.
Must be able to work independently with minimal to no supervision.
Must be cross-trained as an Entry-Level Dispatcher (from an overview perspective).
Must have valid CPR Certification or be willing to obtain one immediately What you will do: Run reports from databases (RAMIV experience preferred); program Radionics alarm panels and operate alarm monitoring software.
Create reports, documents, and correspondence using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Work closely with the NLECC Alarm Program Manager and USPIS Physical Security Specialists (PSS).
Must be cross-trained as an Entry-Level Dispatcher (overview). Minimum Qualifications & Skills : Associate's degree from an accredited college or 2 years of relevant Law Enforcement or similar occupational experience in a Law Enforcement Command Center/Dispatch environment.
Be a citizen of the United States of America.
Ability to pass a Government Security Background Investigation, including credit check, criminal background, and drug screening.
Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
Be able to sit for an extended period of time while monitoring multiple computer monitors.
Ability to deliver the highest quality of work under extreme pressure.
Problem-solving skills and ability to handle conflict in stressful situations.
Be able to read and comprehend the English language; including, printed regulations, written instructions, training material, etc. Be able to speak the English language clearly and fluently.
Be able to write reports, and document events in a concise and accurate manner. This includes the ability to proofread all documentation for grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees and with clients.
Be able to hear ordinary telephone and radio conversations with either ear.
Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel). Radio communications surveillance software experience preferred.
Be able to type a minimum of 45 words per minute (WPM).
Be able to manage and prioritize tasks from multiple simultaneous sources (radio, telephone, alarm monitoring software, etc.). Clearance: Applicants selected may be subject to a government background investigation and may be required to meet the following conditions of employment. Security Requirements/Background Investigation Requirements : Must be a U.S Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.
Favorable credit check for all cleared positions Successfully passing a background investigation including drug screening. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions : Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must have mobility to attend meetings with other managers and employees. Standing for prolonged and extended periods of time.
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling : 0% - 10% of the time.
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 0% - 10% of the time.
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type and use a telephone system 100% of the time.
Sitting: Sitting for prolonged and extended periods of time.
